Right now, wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I want you to pump your fist in the air and shout GUITAR HOSTAGE! That is the name of my newest band. It's a metal band.

GUITAR HOSTAGE!

WOOO!

Other imaginary bands I am in:
Shades of Eddie Money (Eddie Money cover band)
FBI Lady Friend (ragga)
Pieces of Sweet Kitty (punk)

What fictional bands are y'all in??

holy crap!

you did it again. you know how we always change cigarette bands on the same day? it's like that.

because i just landed my first gig TODAY. opening for this seattle band coming through town. and it's wednesday. and i need a band name like yesterday.

it's just me and a badass drummer. he's totally old school. he's like a 50 something african american cool kat badass drummer.

so it's like white stripes styley.

we're toying with h5n1. which is the scientific name for bird flu...

I was in a pretend band called *Near Death Experiment* there for a while, but then a real fucking band stole the name and then some guy used it for the title of his book. So I changed back to my old standby pretend band name which is *Kung! Pow! Chicken!*

Hey, btw, my new pretend favorite food name is *Cream of Sum Yun Gai*

I can't wait to go to all y'alls awesome rock shows. Alissa, I think Boobieshit Lake has a nice ring to it. The bird flu one is a little...sci-fi? Or something?

yeah. the bird flu was a bit sci fi for me too. i asked fancy ray for advice and he told me 'eclectricity'. which i thought was catchy. except there was already a band with that name.

so i was lame and just avoided the subject entirely.

I'm not IN the band per se, but I always wished that there were a band called "Doctor Dicktard and the Butthole Billionaires." They are especially popular in Boston, not so much for their music but for the delightful way their name sounds in the local dialect.
